We all love to listen and read Indian horror stories. However, it is sometimes hard to take out time to search for good horror novels/stories. Other times, you may not have the time to sit through the entire novel. Hence we bring to you a series of Indian Horror Stories curated by us. They are small in length and can be enjoyed in bits and pieces.
Indian Horror Stories – Part 1
1. Adesh Says
“Adesh says…..stand up”
Everyone stands up
“Adesh says……Life your right hand over your head”
Everyone does as told. The rules are simple. You need to follow the command and do as told.
“Run” The command echoed in the room.
One girl stood up and starts running as fast as her feet could carry. Her mouth was gagged and her legs were shackled. She runs awkwardly a few feet, stopping as to not trip over her own feet. She pauses for a second and continues to run, her shackles in the leg making a harsh clanging sound as they clash together due to her movement.
Adesh shakes his head. A low sinister chuckle emanates from his chest. “I didn’t say the command Adesh says,” he said.
Her screaming sobs were replaced by shrieks that bounced off the walls as he shoots an arrow directly into the girl’s back. She falls and a pool of blood forms around her body soaking her hair and clothes.
Adesh turns back to all the other captives who were wide-eyed and trembling with fear. He begins again.
“Adesh Says………..”.
2. Mother’s Warning
Mother always warned me not to go out of the home and across the street. Mother was always there with her warning whenever I thought of crossing the street. She had said that I would be kidnapped by the bad men out there and they would take me away from her.
I guess she was right, at least someway. Because I was never a good child, I eventually crossed the street. Several men came out and picked me up. They asked me many questions like who I was and where I was from.
I do not know why she never wanted me to cross the street. After I was picked up by the men, another group of men came, wearing a khaki-colored dress that had badges in them. I do not know why they put the silver bracelets around my mother’s hand and dragged her to their vehicle. I do not know why Mother attempted to scratch and bite at them.
I do not know a lot of things, I suppose. Years later I’ll never know where I came from and why he made me call him Mother.
3. The Game
Here’s to you kid. Congratulation on your 35th Birthday.
Happy Birthday, You have managed to stay alive, all this time, despite our best efforts. You have played the game very well all these years.
What game you are asking? Don’t know you were playing?
Well, you have been playing the game since the day you were born. Every accident you narrowly missed, from almost getting drowned in the flood to escaping the bike accident with only a broken arm, even missed getting electrolytes and slipping from the balcony of your flat. Every injury waiting to happen, every sudden fatality, was our doing.
Many have already lost the game by the time they reach your age. Many do not even make it a day. Many lost in the most gruesome way. You should consider yourself lucky to have reached the milestone. Luck being your only skill in this game.
What? How do you win this game?
Sorry to disappoint but you don’t. We will eventually get you at the end like everyone else. It’s just a matter of time ……and luck.
Happy Hunting
4. Falling
We’ve all felt the pull.
You are up late at night. Working, Studying, binging movies/series, writing on a laptop. It doesn’t matter what you are doing, its the feeling you get. You get tired, your eyes start burning and you have the gritty feeling you get once you don’t get sleep for a while.
Ok, it is not the time to sleep yet so you cannot go to your bed now, but you close your eyes for a couple of minutes. Just relax your eyes a bit and get some moisture back in it. This couldn’t hurt, right?
A few moments after closing your eyes, you’re falling, like stepping off of a terrace of high rise building, you are in a free-fall as your body remains in its place. Then like a bungee cord snapping back, you’re jerking awake, heart thumping a little faster, blinking quickly what happened and how much time passed by.
The doctor called it a hypnagogic jerk. It is a natural reaction to your brain thinking you’re dying when your breathing and heart rate slow as you fall asleep.
What the doctors don’t know is, your brain is right. Every time you let your self nod off, every time you feel that “falling” sensation,….you are not falling. You’re being pulled down and your brain pulls your back.
And one fine day….your brain won’t be able to pull you back.
Then they will have you.
5. Wrong Room
After a long day at work, you get back to your apartment and you just want to get inside and rest. You are about to pull out your keys and unlock the door when you notice that the door is already open. You stand still in the doorway trying to figure out the situation. As you look around, it hits you. You are on a different floor and this is the wrong room.
As you turn to leave, something inside the room catches your eye. There is a man hunched over a dish of flesh, eating it with his bare hand, tearing it apart as animals do in the wild. The smell of the flesh was sickening.
You are paralyzed by the sight and smell of the scene. Unconsciously you cover your nose and mouth. In doing so you accidentally bump your elbow against the door. You froze. He stopped eating.
He knew that there was something wrong. As he scans for the source of the noise he notices someone watching him eat from the doorway. You saw him notice you. Your legs started moving on their own and you find yourself running, running from the room, and the horrors within it.
The man silently stands up, locks the door, sits back down and grab another slice of pizza, and quietly mutter to himself. “Crazy Vegans“
